It’s A Blessing To Dwell In God’s House – TWC Daily Devotional – Friday 7 August 2015

Funny thing about life is this – many want to have God’s blessings without yearning or longing to be in God’s house – to be amongst His people to worship Him, to surrender our hearts, our desires and our lives to Him. In fact, some come to church just for the sermon, so they arrive only after the worship segment is over. On the other hand, others come just for the worship and they pull out their mobile phones during the sermon and do their own thing while the preacher is preaching. When we gather together for Sunday worship or for a cell meeting, our expression of worship to the Lord includes both the time of worship through singing and learning and hearing the Word taught and preached. Our response to God’s revelation through the songs of worship, prayers led by the prayer leaders and the sermons preached is our worship unto God. The psalmist in Ps.84 loved this and he saw it as a blessing! Indeed, it is a blessing to dwell in God’s house, praising Him! He said, “blessed are those who dwell in Your house, they are ever praising You!” As you walk with God today, enjoy praising God in His presence, whether on your own in the privacy of your own home, or in church amongst God’s people. Express your love for God through passionate worship and eager listening and learning of the Word of God. Know that this is a blessing, and it’s far better than anything the world can ever offer! Have a great day!
