you are not alone

Today’s Recommended Video: 24/7 (Equippers Church, NZ) ….

The Apostle Paul said, “Forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead, I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenwards in Christ Jesus” (Phil.3:13-14). There is a goal God has called you and me towards – He has a mission for us to fulfill – something that would impact the lives of people around us, something that would make a difference and bless many. As we serve our mission, God is right there to help us. We are not alone in this! To do this work without God’s presence and power makes us the most miserable people on earth. It would be like an army without a general in command, a soccer team without a manager, a country without a leader. Everyone would end up doing what is right in our own eyes – there will be no alignment, no unity and no real strength. We would just end up fighting losing battles! But thanks be to God, this is not the case. The Lord is with us to lead us, to protect us and to empower us. He provides the vision and the strategy. When we take time to seek Him, we will find Him. When we take time to hear from Him, we will receive His vision and strategy. We must want to do His work His way in His time, then we will have His success and blessing. Sometimes, the trouble is, even though the Lord is accessible to us, though He is more than willing and more than able to help us in what we do for Him, yet we prefer to run on empty. We say we are doing His work, but we are doing it our way. We pray, we utter a few words to ask Him for His blessing but we seldom seek Him for His revelation and we strategize without His blueprint. Is it any wonder why the progress is slow and the results are mediocre! God’s work done God’s way will not lack God’s provision – so said Hudson Taylor, the great missionary to China – but can we really say that this is exactly what we are doing – God’s work done God’s way? Sometimes, it’s more like God’s work done the professional way or God’s work done the marketplace way or God’s work done a secular CEO’s way! Knowing that we are not alone in fulfilling God’s purposes in our lives means we rely on Him in doing His work. Whether it is a personal endeavor or a corporate one, we must seek Him, we must get His blueprint, we must receive His revelation. Heavenly revelation changes everything, it inspires, in compels and it empowers. As you walk with the Lord today, know that you are not alone as you serve God’s purpose in your life and as you serve together with your church leadership team to fulfill God’s destiny for your church. He is not only there to protect and bless us but He is also there to provide leadership and guidance. Follow His plans and you can’t go wrong. Look at Noah – can you imagine Noah building an ark without all the details and dimensions from the Lord? Or can you imagine Joshua taking on Jericho without God’s specific strategy? They connected with God, they waited on Him for His blueprint and then they got to work. So must we. Have a great day!

Today’s Bible Text: “12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead, 14 I press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenwards in Christ Jesus.” (Phil.3:12-14)
