Prayer for Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat

by Rev Sng Chong Hui

For the past two days, my thoughts and prayers have been on our Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat.

He collapsed from a stroke during a Cabinet meeting on 12 May 2016. He underwent neurosurgery to relieve pressure in his brain and is now under post-surgical care in ICU.

This man has won my admiration and commanded my respect when he served as Education Minister from 2011 to 2015.

He practically revolutionized our Singapore education system by steering it towards a student-centric, values-driven, holistic development and multiple definitions of success in different educational pathways.

I pray for such a man to continue to lead, serve and re-invent Singapore.

Dear God,

You are the God of all healing grace.

I join all Singaporeans who are praying for our Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat.

Hear our prayers, O God of unfailing love and mercy.

Touch Mr. Heng Swee Keat with Your supernatural power. Breathe into him Your breathe of life.

By faith, I pray against any loss of muscular, mental and vocal abilities.

Let Your healing power course through his body. Heal the leak in the blood vessel. Heal every nerve and tissue. Heal every muscle and organ. Make his body whole again.

Thank You for sparing his life. Even more, thank You for granting him a full and complete recovery no matter how long it takes.

Use him as a living testimony of Your grace. You have guided and put him in high political office. Let him once again have the quality of life to serve faithfully in the leadership of Singapore

May he and all of us always recognize You are our Great Physician, the Jehovah Ropha, the Lord who heals.

For we pray this in the name of the One who came to die for us and heal us of all kinds of illnesses, even Jesus Christ our Lord, Savior and Healer.

“For I am the Lord who heals you” Exodus 15:26
