Day 154

by Rev Joel Yong

Job 9:2-7
“Yes, I know that this is true. But how can a mortal be declared righteous to God? If he wished to debate with God, he wouldn’t be able to answer one question in a thousand. “God is wise in heart and mighty in power. Who could oppose him and win? He moves mountains without their knowing it, and he topples them in his anger. He shakes the earth from its place, and its pillars tremble. He commands the sun not to rise. He doesn’t let the stars come out.

Job answered correctly.
Who is man before the Almighty God?

Our achievements are but a breath compared to God’s might.
Fleeting and miniscule.

Don’t forget that.
Because the day I forget it – I fill my perspective with clutter that takes the shape of “Joel can …” and “Joel is …”

When that happens, I cease to see clearly that “Jesus can …” and “Jesus is …”
The difference between the two sets of words are but a name.
But what a difference that is – one is a finite mortal and the other is the Name above all other names …
