Day 189

by Rev Joel Yong

Isaiah 10:3
What will you do on the day you are called to account for these things, when the disaster comes from far away? Where will you run for help? Where will you leave your wealth?

There will be a call for us to account for what we have done one day.

How do you feel about that?
Dread it?
Welcome it?
Assured it’s taken care of?

The first response indicates that there are alarm bells going off in us- that we have various areas that need looking into and habits that need to change. If so, take action now and don’t wait till judgment day.

The second response is misguided. No one will be found sinless on that day of judgement for everyone has done and said things that are against God’s way of life.

The third response can only arise because a person is certain that his debt has been paid in advance. Jesus did that for us when He died on the Cross for the sins of the world. He wiped the slate clean.

Since the day of judgement WILL definitely come – let us make our reconciliation with our Maker for the wayward life we led.

That is wisdom …
Anything else is foolishness.
