“The reason I can still find hope is that I keep this one thing in mind: the LORD’s mercy. We were not completely wiped out. His compassion is never limited. It is new every morning. His faithfulness is great.
Amidst his agony and grief- Jeremiah’s relief and hope – is that they are not completely destroyed.
Some are dead, some are in exile, and some dwell in ruins of a formerly glorious city.
But because he focuses on what they still have, rather than just what they have lost – he sees hope.
He praises God for His compassion and faithfulness.
What kind of a situation are you stuck in?
Are you focusing solely on what you have lost?
How about turning your gaze to what you have left and start praising God for the remnant?
