Day 238

by Rev Joel Yong

Nahum 1:3
The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and the Lord will by no means clear the guilty. His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

Do not be deceived …
When the guilty seem to go unpunished, God is hoping they will repent …
When the unbelieving seem to insult His name and get away with evil, God is shoring up His judgment upon them …

He is SLOW to anger.
He doesn’t just snap, like us and unleash a torrent of rage, and we do so, in an unwise manner very often.

God considers all things and watches.
And at the right moment, He collects what is due … vengeance upon oppressors, judgment upon evil, discipline upon the wayward and justice is given unto the poor and oppressed.

Look to Him and trust in Him.
When He said through His prophets in Isaiah and Ezekiel, that He would punish the nations wreaking havoc upon Jerusalem, He did. History shows that the likes of Egypt, Edom, and many others, all got their just desserts eventually for the part they played in destroying Jerusalem.

He did it then, and He will do it again today …
Turn to Him, and seek His grace and forgiveness … He is slow to anger and abounds in mercy and grace.
