Day 316

by Rev Joel Yong

Colossians 4:3-4
At the same time also pray for us. Pray that God will give us an opportunity to speak the word so that we may tell the mystery about Christ. It is because of this mystery that I am a prisoner. Pray that I may make this mystery as clear as possible. This is what I have to do.

I have always believed there is no point in knowing what is written in a book but not understanding it.

Anyone can read the words in a book but to be able to understand what the author meant and intended to communicate, and correctly apply it – is another matter altogether.

That is why the teaching of the Word must be made plain. It must be explained in simple and clear terms for our listener’s benefit.

No wonder Paul asks for prayers to make the mystery of Christ as clear as possible.

Do you pray for your teachers and speakers within the local church weekly as they bring forth God’s Word to the people?

If not, please do – the mystery of Christ made plain and clear, it changes people.
For an eternity.
