God never said to any of his angels, “You are my Son. Today I have become your Father.” And God never said to any of his angels, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son.” When God was about to send his firstborn Son into the world, he said, “All of God’s angels must worship him.”
Some claim Jesus was an angel who became the Son of God. Some others claim Jesus was a man, who by his good deeds, became ‘promoted’ to the status of Son of God.
The Scriptures are very clear.
Jesus was already the Son of God when God sent Him into our world.
He was both fully God and fully man when He went up upon the Cross and died for us.
He represented us.
He was one of us – flesh and blood. So when He died on the Cross – He was taking our place.
The only difference was that He had not sinned.
He represented God.
God hung upon the Cross- not just a man. His valuable life was given in exchange for all the lives of humankind in history (that is a lot of lives! But because He is the Son of God – He could make the worthy exchange of 1 life for all.)
And it is the Son of God.
Not a rabbi alone. Not an angel.
That Christians worship and call Him Lord.
