Day 340

by Rev Joel Yong

Hebrews 3:7-10
As the Holy Spirit says, “If you hear God speak today, don’t be stubborn. Don’t be stubborn like those who rebelled and tested me in the desert. That is where your ancestors tested me, although they had seen what I had done for 40 years. That is why I was angry with those people. So I said, ‘Their hearts continue to stray, and they have not learned my ways.’

One of the key mistakes that some people make is that they rationalize that God no longer speaks today. They figure that He is only heard through the Scriptures of old.

God is still speaking today!
He guides us today as He did with the heroes of faith like Moses and Joshua and as He did with the apostles like Peter, John and Paul!

But the issue is whether our hearts are receptive or stubborn to this beckoning that comes from God.
Will we obey Him or brush His prompting to us off, as impossible and unimportant?

Martin Luther King Jr, Mother Teresa, Billy Graham – all in their own ways – were directed by God’s guidance for them in the contemporary world, I believe.

Jesus came, He died and yes He will come again.
God spoke, and God is still speaking today!
So be responsive to the voice of God today.

It might come through the Scriptures as we read them or through a burning passion and burden He has placed in our lives like in those of Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr or Billy Graham.

Would you be found obedient or resistant? Consider this today and pray like Samuel did: “Here I am O God, speak for Your servant is listening.”
