1 Peter 3:1-2
Wives, in a similar way, place yourselves under your husbands’ authority. Some husbands may not obey God’s word. Their wives could win these men for Christ by the way they live without saying anything. Their husbands would see how pure and reverent their lives are.
Nagging seldom achieves anything.
As a father, I find nagging kids falls on deaf ears. Out of habit, I do it anyway.
Instead I find kids learn by watching what we do.
They pick up words we use, habits, mannerisms and attitudes, just by watching us.
Scolding our spouse does not effect change.
How we live our lives on the other hand, has a more profound impact.
By observation, they make mental notes of what we stand for, whether these are consistent in terms of our actions and words and they also note how various triggers lead to various responses in us.
So let’s live right.
It’s not easy for we are flawed human beings.
But Jesus showed us a better way to live and by how He lived, even up till the dying moments on the Cross, lives were changed.
One thief upon the Cross even changed his mind about Jesus. He went from mocking Jesus initially to eventually asking Jesus for grace to enter the Kingdom of God upon his death!
So live the Word.
You never know who or when, lives will be impacted by your life actions.
